Longing

By chance, our paths did cross so many years ago. The time together was among my most happiest days. You filled life with joy, gave a sense of belonging.

One dark day it all came down. Though the days leading to the end were filled with turmoil, who is to say what was actually the cause. Two people that had grown apart- sadness filled the room.

Years have passed, lives lived, paths taken… I’m taken back to the decisions I’ve made- wishing some had been different. I wouldn’t trade the life I’ve lived, but I can’t deny the thoughts that fill my mind… What would it have been like…
